At first, I wasn't sure how our latest sport would be received by others -- no one else was doing anything like this. But then I learned that my father-in-law had learned judo as a boy too. Shan said it probably saved his life while he was serving in the Korean War. Well, that's all Teagan needed to hear to embrace it fully. He loves to make the comparisons to spiritual warfare and putting on the armor of God -- all things war and weaponry fascinate him. Not to mention that he LOVES all things Japanese these days too. He will try anything food-wise if it originates in Japan.
And now cousin AJ has joined in too. It's fun to watch AJ and Tag spar on the mats-- Taggart just giggles and giggles -- I think that's the only thing that gets him reprimanded from Sensei. After all, he should be serious about fighting! I think Shayli would like to join too (soccer keeps her too busy), especially if it would scare off the couple of boys who bug her to death (She's too cute for them to ignore, if you ask me!).
So, we love judo at our house. After Tanner gets a little more settled with school, he may get to join in too. Don't they just look great! They all look forward for the testing that will earn them their colored belts.
PS -- the best thing about our judo: $5 per month. Seriously! And that is for 2 two-hour sessions a week! Can't beat that one!

Oh my goodness, what handsome young men! Congratulations to you all on your accomplishments. I bet Tanner wants to mimick you three constantly!
How in the world do they offer this SO inexpensively?? I would sign up Eliza and Seth up for it (although, we're maxed out with afternoons for the time being). That looks like SUCH fun. I'll have to think about that for Seth. He needs to learn respect!
BTW...they are handsome boys. I love to see a man in white!
Can you see about getting something like that set up in Spokane?? Then again, the last thing I need right now is for Jackson to learn even more moves to practice on Taryn. =) Your boys look great! We'll expect a little show at the next reunion. Get them practicing!
