16 Days and Counting...

Only 16 days left until Breaking Dawn. (Big sigh!) If you don't know what I'm talking about, then...okay.

So, I ask these questions?

  1. Do you have an unpleasant task(like I do) that you are trying to do so that you can reward yourself with the book? (I have to clear a couple of boxes of old business paperwork :P)
  2. Do you plan to get it the first day (Aug 2nd, in case you aren't sure yet)? (YES!! Midnight party at Borders, here I come!!)
  3. Have you cleared your calendar for the weekend so that you can read said book? (No lesson for YW, and so far nothing on Saturday!!!)
  4. Do you have a prediction for what happens to Bella? Vampire or not? Volturi interventions? Edward vs. Jacob? 768 pages should reveal lots of answers! My guesses (with no advantage and I haven't read the fan sites): Bella's not able to be a vampire for some complicated reasons; Of course the Volturi return; Edward, but I do like Jacob too.
I know not everyone likes the series, but maybe because Emily (Stephenie's sister) is our friend, or maybe because I'm finally trusting my mom when she says a book is good (and then sends it for my birthday -- thanks, eh!!!), but this one has me all sucked in. Truly, they are the vampire books for people who don't like vampires!!

Yes, 16 days (about 384 hours) from now, I will be driving home from Borders and staying awake a long time to find out for myself!

Keep writing, Stephenie! It helps make it so my kids see me read (good example, y'know!).

OK, so the time frame at the bottom of the blog says you posted this at 3:15 am. Was that 3:15 Nauvoo time, so 10:00 pm Hawaii Time, or are you TOTALLY NUTS??? I will receive my copy of the book along with The Host, which I ordered from school as a special treat to myself--a bribe of sorts or a reward for finishing those classes. I say Edward for Bella and Jacob will find his soul mate in another way. But then, I've always been drawn to Edward. I think I may have to re-read the first three before Breaking Dawn, to refresh my memory which has been stretched by American Heritage to the point that there is little recognizable left! Much love to you!

I agree, Edward... although I also like Jacob. I still haven't decided if I think she'll be a vampire or not, guess I better decide soon! I'm excited! On another note - looks like you guys had a great time at Youth Conference!

The 3:15 time is Pacific, so 12:15 in Hawaii. But I AM nuts -- I was pulling an all-nighter, trying to catch up on the paperwork that is going to eat my children alive! It is part of my "earning Breaking Dawn" bribe/reward deal which I am offering to Shan so that I don't feel guilty about the things I should be doing when I finally get to read! Plus one of our phone services was about to be disconnected (you can only neglect somethings for so long before it catches up to you!)

I too am excited to see how things are going to end. I don't plan on going to Borders though, sorry
Traci. I'll get it at Costco sometime during the weeks after the release...

My choice: JACOB, JACOB, JACOB. I don't see it happening (sadly), because I think Meyers couldn't turn her back on Edward. Somehow, I don't see Bella turning into a vampire either. My thought is that something will change Edward when he is in the act of changing Bella that makes him human again. (I haven't stayed up nights worrying and thinking of HOW this would actually be possible though.)

Lastly, does anyone else see the terrible example in these books...a girl in an extremely unhealthy relationship, willing to throw away everything she is for a boy that she is addicted to?? Bella and Edward really have a scary relationship in my opinion...

Umm, surprisingly, I had no clue when the book was coming out. But ya know what, I'm sure Jenna and I will get a copy pretty fast. Maybe even at midnight? I'm not really sure. I think I need to reread Twilight and New Moon in the next little while.
